The house over the years...
The land of the current property was bought in 1889 by Auguste Billerey (herein pictured in the front page of a national newspaper), one of the largest and most famous wine producers and distributors in France in the second half of the nineteenth century. Interestingly Auguste Billerey who built the house had ownership in Chevalier-Montrachet and monopoly over “Les Pucelles” which were sold to the Domaine Jean Chartron in 1917. The house was built in 1890 and sold to Domaine Matrot in 1903 when Auguste Billerey passed away. The property was under Matrot’s ownership for two generations, before it was sold in 1940 to a tailor based in Chalon-sur-Saône. The grandparents of the current owner purchased the house in 1950. The adjacent family owned land (0,25 ha) of Puligny-Montrachet Village is produced by Sylvain Bzikot.
Recently, the house was selected and used for the indoor shooting of the movie “Ce qui nous lie” directed by Cedric Klapisch from September 2015 to September 2016, starring François Civil, Anna Girardot and Pio Marmaï.
